What is Quinton (Kinton) Seawater Therapy?
In 1897, French physiologist and biologist René Quinton discovered that the mineral composition of human blood closely resembles that of ancient seawater. At the time when life first emerged, the salinity of seawater was about 0.7–0.8% (compared to the current average of 3.5%).
Following a successful public experiment in which a dog’s blood was replaced with seawater, Quinton developed Quinton Plasma, which could be administered intravenously and orally to humans. This treatment reportedly cured hundreds of thousands of people and saved many lives.
Since then, Quinton Therapy has spread mainly throughout Europe and North America for over 120 years, even receiving endorsement from the French government.
Etiology and Constitutional Medicine
At that time, while Louis Pasteur’s etiology emphasized that “pathogenic microbes deteriorate the body’s environment,” René Quinton proposed Constitutional Medicine, which held that “the deterioration of the extracellular fluid environment surrounding the cells gives rise to disease.”
In 2012, the NIH (U.S. National Institutes of Health) announced—based on genetic analysis—that “all humans harbor pathogens, which are microorganisms known to cause disease.” This has led to increasing recognition that René Quinton’s concept of Constitutional Medicine will continue to expand in the future.
Seawater Restores Overall Cellular Function
The seawater used in Quinton Therapy is collected from a specific marine area off the coast of Spain at a depth of 30 meters, where vortex (whirlpool) currents occur. It is transported at 4°C, the temperature at which water density is at its maximum, and impurities such as bacteria are removed using a non-heated microfiltration method that preserves the seawater’s natural antibacterial properties. The seawater is then sealed in special glass ampoules and prepared for use.
Thanks to the presence of 78 minerals contained in Quinton seawater—identical to those that supply primitive essential components—this seawater helps restore overall cellular function.
Supporting the Restoration of Optimal Cellular Function
-
You can benefit from living minerals generated from marine plankton (which cannot be obtained effectively from sea salt alone).
-
Mineral supplementation with excellent bioavailability is possible.
-
Because of its superior absorption, supplementation can also be done orally.
-
It is considered ideal for mineral replenishment before, during, and after detoxification, as well as for preparation for childbirth.
-
Quinton (pure natural seawater) plays an important role in restoring optimal cellular function.
Quinton Isotonic
Seawater collected is diluted with spring water, making it an isotonic solution equivalent to human plasma.
It activates the body’s elimination processes for completely natural detoxification. Through this, the extracellular environment is renewed to match the concentration of body fluids, supporting cell regeneration and activation, enhancement of kidney excretory function, regulation of homeostasis, adjustment of cellular nutritional balance, as well as mineral supplementation for gynecological and dermatological conditions.
This seawater, diluted and adjusted to the same concentration as body fluids, is used as drinking water. By providing all essential minerals and trace nutrients, it optimally enhances cellular metabolism. It helps balance the internal environment of the body and strengthens its natural vital functions. Recommended for those concerned about fatigue, swelling, digestive discomfort, or skin condition.
-
The magnesium content helps balance electrolytes, regulate energy metabolism, and aid in recovery from fatigue.
-
It restores the proper function of the nervous system, promoting mental stability.
-
It assists in protein synthesis and supports muscle function.
-
It contributes to maintaining the health of bones and teeth.
-
It supports the proper process of cell division.
Quinton Hypertonic
Undiluted collected seawater. Provides powerful mineral supplementation.
It supports metabolic disorders or deficiencies that interfere with nutrient absorption. As a result, it may help with mental and physical fatigue, provide support for depression, assist in managing nutritional disorders, supply minerals for osteoporosis, provide mineral supplementation for athletes, and support conditions in which mineral balance is disrupted.
It is also recommended for energy replenishment during times of intense exertion. It revitalizes the body when experiencing severe stress or physical fatigue. Ideal for those who struggle with daily fatigue, before and after athletic competitions or physical labor, and for support during pregnancy.
The Difference Between Hypertonic and Isotonic
-
Hypertonic has the same concentration as seawater (3.3%) and has mainly been used as a source of mineral supplementation.
-
Isotonic is seawater diluted with spring water rich in silica to the same concentration as physiological saline (0.9%). It has mainly been used as a pharmaceutical preparation, such as for injections or oral intake.
How to Take Quinton
-
Hold one end of the glass ampoule with the attached circular remover, twist it, and snap it off to detach it from the body.
-
After removing one end, hold the ampoule over a glass with the open side facing downward, then snap off the other end to pour the contents into the container.
-
Drink directly from the glass.
Precautions for Quinton
-
Please use immediately after opening. Always use the remover to break off the ampoule tips to avoid injury.
-
The recommended intake is about 1 to 4 ampoules per day.
-
As this is a dietary supplement and not a pharmaceutical drug, there is no strictly defined dosage.
-
Because it consists of mineral components, it can be safely consumed even by those on a salt-restricted diet. There are no contraindications.
At Yui Clinic, Quinton seawater is available not only for oral intake but also for intravenous and subcutaneous injection.
