High-Dose Vitamin C Infusion

High-Dose Vitamin C Infusion

This therapy involves administering 25 g of vitamin C intravenously over the course of one hour. For its anti-cancer effect, a high-dose vitamin C infusion may also be given, with a single administration of 75 g of vitamin C. High-dose vitamin C infusion is one of the latest therapies discovered in recent years in the United States and Canada, and it is considered a potential candidate for future approval as an anti-cancer drug.

Reported benefits include rejuvenation effects (such as improvement of spots, wrinkles, sagging, dullness, and antioxidant activity), enhanced immunity, and stress relief, among others.

At our clinic, we use ascorbic acid (vitamin C) manufactured by Bioniche. This product contains no preservatives. Each vial contains 500 mg of ascorbic acid, 0.25 mg of disodium edetate, and 110 mg of sodium hydroxide. A blood test (G6PD enzyme test) is required before starting treatment.

Advantages

  • With oral intake of vitamin C, the amount absorbed is limited, and it is excreted in the urine within a short period. However, with intravenous infusion, blood concentration can be raised rapidly and efficiently.

  • Even if excess vitamin C enters the body, the unnecessary portion is excreted through urine.

  • In the case of high-dose vitamin C infusion, it acts selectively on cancer cells. When administered into the bloodstream, normal cells neutralize hydrogen peroxide, but cancer cells cannot, leading to their destruction. Unlike conventional anticancer drugs, vitamin C is characterized by having no side effects.
